At Bloc & Boon, we apply traditional joinery techniques to contemporary home focused design. Every stage of production and creative decision made, makes sure that function and aesthetic are at the forefront, to make sure your piece not only looks great but lasts a lifetime. These are the fundamental principals that sit at the heart of Bloc & Boon and who we are.
We offer a core range of carefully considered pieces, from smaller hand turned homewares to larger staple items, alongside commissionable and bespoke pieces all handmade in our East Kent workshop.
Bloc & Boon is a place for love of handcrafted goodness and high quality pieces for the home. After all, it's one of the most important spaces in life.
Inspired by mid century design and modern aesthetics, our pieces have a subtle, classic contemporary feel. Clean, simple lines and shapes paired with traditional joinery means everything we produce will grow as you do, and move with you in the space/s you choose to occupy. Home is one of the most important places we spend our time and natural materials have enormous strength in encouraging calm, contentment and wellbeing. With this, we know how important it can be to make the right choices towards what you fill it with. Not only is it key for how well things function but also how great they look, their high quality and how long lasting they are. The pieces we make do just that.
We are Harry + Lu, and we both come from Fine Art backgrounds with a wealth of experience in the carpentry and creative industries. We are happiest when getting our hands on materials and getting stuck in, with ideas forged in Margate and every piece crafted at our workshop in the hamlet of Martin.
